Terms of service
The agreement between you and SyncFac (Pty) Ltd for using DevSyncora: the web app, this website and the DevSyncora Bridge.
Last updated: 2 October 2026 In force from: 2 October 2026
Who we are
DevSyncora is a persistent 3D studio for developers and the people they build with. It is made and run by SyncFac (Pty) Ltd ("SyncFac", "we", "us" or "our"), a private company registered in South Africa.
In these terms, "DevSyncora" or "the service" means the DevSyncora web app, this website, the DevSyncora Bridge and anything else we offer under the DevSyncora name. "You" means the person using it.

We publish this information as section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 requires. You can save or print these terms from this page at any time. How we handle personal information is in our Privacy policy, and how we protect it is on the Security and privacy page.
These terms
These terms and our Privacy policy are the agreement between you and us about DevSyncora. By signing in, creating or joining a workspace, or installing the Bridge, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use DevSyncora.
If you use DevSyncora for a company or another organisation (for example, by creating a workspace for your team), you confirm that you may accept these terms for it, and "you" includes it.
Please read these sections with care: Your responsibility for AI agents, Disclaimers, Limitation of liability and Indemnity. They limit our liability and place some risks on you, as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 or any other law that cannot be excluded.
Who may use DevSyncora
You must be 18 or older to use DevSyncora. By using it, you confirm that you are 18 or older and able to enter into a binding agreement.
DevSyncora is built for adults. Workspaces and public communities bring together people who may never have met, by voice, chat and direct messages. Under South African law, processing a child's personal information needs the prior consent of a parent or guardian, which we have no reliable way to collect or check. So we do not allow accounts for anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we will close it and delete its data.
You may not use DevSyncora if we have closed an account of yours before for breaking these terms, or if the law that applies to you forbids it.
Your account
- You sign in with your GitHub account. We never see or store your GitHub password. Your DevSyncora account is only as safe as your GitHub account, so protect it (we recommend two-factor authentication).
- One person per account. Do not share your account or let anyone else use it.
- Keep your profile honest, and do not pretend to be someone else.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has used it, sign out your other devices in Account, Security, and tell us at support@syncfac.com.
Workspaces and communities
A workspace is a shared studio. Whoever creates it is its owner. Owners can make members admins, and admins help run the workspace.
If you own or run a workspace, you are responsible for running it well:
- who you invite or let in, and the roles you give them;
- its settings and rules, and, if you list it as a public community, what its public page says;
- the content in it, as far as the tools DevSyncora gives you allow: removing content, muting people, taking them out of the room and banning them;
- making sure your members follow these terms while they are in your workspace, and acting on the reports they send you;
- if the workspace is for an organisation, any agreement with its people about how they use DevSyncora.
We may still act on content or members in any workspace when these terms or the law require it.
Listing a workspace as a public community shows its name, description, rules and other published details to anyone, including people who are not signed in. If its owner allows it, signed-in people can visit it as guests. Owners and admins can see some information about the people in their workspace, such as its audit log and the reports sent to them; the Privacy policy explains what.
Acceptable use
Use DevSyncora lawfully and with respect for others. You must not:
- break the law, or post, share or upload anything illegal, including anything that infringes someone else's copyright, trademarks or other rights;
- harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone, or post hate speech, sexually explicit material or anything that sexualises children;
- share other people's personal information without a lawful reason, or send spam;
- pretend to be another person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection with one;
- upload or send malware, or anything meant to damage, disrupt or spy on a device, an account or a network;
- attack, probe or overload DevSyncora, or get around its security, rate limits, privacy rules, office locks or bans, or test it for weaknesses without our written permission;
- scrape, crawl or harvest DevSyncora or its users' data, or use it through automated means other than the ones we provide (the web app, the Bridge and the documented integrations);
- misuse AI agents or integrations: for example, to break the law or someone else's terms, to create harmful content, to attack other systems, or to reach code, accounts or data you have no right to;
- cheat in or exploit games, scores, achievements, tournaments or ladders, with modified clients, bots, scripts or bugs, or by fixing results;
- copy or resell DevSyncora, or use it to build a competing service or to send unsolicited advertising.
If you find a weakness or a bug that lets someone do any of this, please tell us at hello@syncfac.com instead of using it.
We may remove content, end a session or suspend an account that breaks these rules (see Suspension and termination).
Your content
Your content is what you put into DevSyncora: your profile, messages, notes, shared items and uploads, project details, prompts and agent transcripts, and the activity your connected tools send. You keep all your rights in it.
To run DevSyncora we need your permission to handle it. You give SyncFac a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display your content, and to adapt it in technical ways (such as resizing an image or formatting a message), only as needed to run, secure and improve DevSyncora for you and to show your content to the people you share it with, following your settings. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train AI models.
This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in our backups until they expire (after 14 days), copies in reports that other members sent to their workspace admins, and records we must keep by law or to resolve a dispute.
You promise that you have the rights you need for your content, and that sharing it does not break any law, contract or duty of confidentiality. That includes the activity of repositories and tools you connect, and anything your employer owns: check your employer's rules before you connect work repositories or share their activity.
We do not review content before it appears, but we may remove or restrict it when it breaks these terms or the law.
Our software, brand and your feedback
DevSyncora, including its software, the Bridge, its 3D worlds, characters, designs and sounds and the DevSyncora name and logo, belongs to SyncFac or our licensors and is protected by law. These terms give you the right to use DevSyncora as they describe, and nothing more. Do not use our name or logo without our written permission, other than to refer to DevSyncora honestly.
Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, we may use them freely, without paying you or owing you anything. You never have to send any.
AI agents
DevSyncora lets you work with AI agents in four ways:
- Scout, a simple built-in agent that runs on our servers without any AI provider;
- workspace agents, which run on our servers through an AI provider (Anthropic's Claude or OpenAI) with keys we provide;
- personal agents, which run on our servers with your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key;
- agents you run on your own computer through the DevSyncora Bridge, with your own Claude Code or Codex (see the next section).
What agents on our servers can do
Agents on our servers only work with what DevSyncora already holds about a project you may see. DevSyncora's connections to GitHub, GitLab, Jira and the other tools are read-only, so these agents cannot change your code or anything else on those services. They can post their findings or a note inside the workspace, and a workspace can require someone to approve that first.
Your responsibility for AI agents
AI output can be wrong, incomplete, insecure or out of date, even when it sounds certain. You are responsible for the instructions you give agents, for what agents do on your instructions, and for checking their output before you rely on it, especially before you merge, deploy or run code they wrote.
Keep your work in version control and back it up, so you can undo an agent's changes.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for changes an agent makes to your code, files, systems or accounts, or for decisions you make based on AI output (subject to Limitation of liability).
The AI providers' own terms and policies also apply to what you do with their models.
The DevSyncora Bridge
The DevSyncora Bridge is a program you install on your own computer. It runs your own Claude Code or Codex in folders you link, so you can watch and steer them from DevSyncora.
Your licence
While these terms apply to you, SyncFac gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to download, install and use the Bridge on computers you own or control, only to use it with DevSyncora. The Bridge is licensed to you, not sold.
You must not:
- copy the Bridge, other than to install it and keep a backup;
- modify it, or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
- sell, rent, lend, distribute or sublicense it, or offer it to others as a service;
- remove or change any notice in it, or use it to get around DevSyncora's security or limits.
Open-source components
The Bridge includes open-source software made by others, including the Node.js runtime. Those parts are licensed under their own licences, listed in the THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md file that comes with every release. Nothing in these terms limits the rights those licences give you.
Your AI tools
- Claude Code and Codex are made by Anthropic and OpenAI, not by us. You use them with your own account, plan or API key and under their terms, and your provider bills you for them. Make sure their terms allow you to use them this way.
- The Bridge never reads or sends your Claude or Codex login.
- On your computer, an agent can read, create, change and delete files in the folders you link, within the permission level you set for each folder. At the full level it can also run commands and use the network. Choose levels with care, and never link a folder an agent should not touch.
- When you start a run from DevSyncora, what the agent says, the commands it runs with their output, and the changes it makes to your files (a diff, which can include your code) are sent to DevSyncora so you can follow the run. The Privacy policy says who can see them.
- The Bridge checks for updates, but installs one only when you run its update command. You can stop, unpair and uninstall it at any time.
When the licence ends
The licence ends automatically when your account is deleted, when these terms end for you, or if you break this section. You must then stop using the Bridge and uninstall it.
Questions about the Bridge: build@syncfac.com.
Other services and integrations
DevSyncora works with services run by other companies, such as GitHub, GitLab, Jira, Linear, Slack, Discord, Vercel and Coolify, AI providers, and your browser's own speech recognition. When you connect or use one:
- its own terms and privacy policy apply to your use of it, and you must follow them;
- you allow us to use it on your behalf, only within the permissions you grant, and you can disconnect it at any time;
- we are not responsible for it, for its content or for how it handles your data, and we cannot promise it will keep working with DevSyncora: providers change and remove features.
What DevSyncora posts to a Slack or Discord channel can be read by everyone in that channel.
Questions about integrations and webhooks: build@syncfac.com.
Plans and payment
DevSyncora is free today. Every workspace is on the Free plan, which costs nothing and has no time limit. We never ask for payment details.
Paid plans (the Plus and Pro workspace plans and the personal Studio Pass) are not available yet. Before anyone can buy one, we will publish its price and the terms for fees, billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds here, in line with the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, including any cooling-off rights you have. Those terms will only apply if you choose to buy. We will never move you onto a paid plan without your agreement.
The Free plan's features and limits are on the Pricing page. We may change them; if a change takes away something you rely on, we will tell you in advance (see Changes to these terms).
Availability, changes and beta features
- We work to keep DevSyncora running well, but it is provided as available. It may sometimes be slow, interrupted or unavailable, for example during maintenance or when one of our providers has a problem. We do not promise any level of uptime.
- DevSyncora keeps growing. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a major feature you use, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
- Some features are marked as beta, preview or experimental. They may be incomplete, change a lot or be removed, and are provided as they are.
- Keep your own copy of anything important. You can export your data at any time in Account, Privacy.
Suspension and termination
By you
You can stop using DevSyncora at any time. To close your account, delete it in Account, Security. If you own a workspace with other members, hand it over or delete it first. You can export your data before you go.
By us
We may suspend or limit your access, remove content or close your account if:
- you seriously or repeatedly break these terms;
- the law, a court or an authority requires it;
- it is needed to protect people, DevSyncora or our providers from harm, fraud or abuse.
Where it is reasonable and lawful, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond first. If you think we got it wrong, write to us at hello@syncfac.com.
We may also stop offering DevSyncora altogether. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice, so you can export your data.
What happens then
When your account ends, your right to use DevSyncora and the Bridge ends, and we delete or anonymise your data as the Privacy policy describes. Parts of these terms that by their nature should continue (such as Your content, Disclaimers, Limitation of liability, Indemnity and Governing law) keep applying.
Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, DevSyncora is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that it will meet your needs, or that content or AI output in it is accurate. As far as the law allows, we exclude all warranties and conditions that these terms do not set out.
We are not responsible for content created by other users, for what people do in workspaces we do not run, or for services run by others.
If the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 applies to your use of DevSyncora, nothing in these terms limits your rights under it, including your right to services of the quality people are generally entitled to expect. The same goes for any other right the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for any indirect, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill or data, however it arises;
- we are not liable for loss caused by your AI agents, your devices, your AI providers or other companies' services, or by your breach of these terms;
- our total liability to you for all claims about DevSyncora is limited to the greater of what you paid us for DevSyncora in the 12 months before the claim arose and R1 000. DevSyncora is free today, so that limit is R1 000.
These limits do not apply to loss caused by our gross negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct, to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or to any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to compensate SyncFac, and our directors and employees, for losses, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from a claim by someone else that is caused by your content, by your breach of these terms or the law, or by your infringement of their rights, including through agents acting on your instructions.
This does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by our own breach, negligence or misconduct. We will tell you promptly about such a claim and let you take part in answering it. If you use DevSyncora as a consumer, this section applies only as far as the Consumer Protection Act allows.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The courts of South Africa have jurisdiction over any dispute about them or about DevSyncora.
If you are a consumer living outside South Africa, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you may be able to bring a claim in its courts.
If something goes wrong, please write to us at hello@syncfac.com first: most problems are solved quickly that way. This does not affect your right to go to a consumer protection body or a court.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features, launch paid plans or the law changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
If a change materially affects you, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies, by email (if you have a confirmed address) or in DevSyncora. Changes the law requires, or that only concern new features, may apply sooner.
If you keep using DevSyncora once a change applies, the new terms apply to you. If you do not agree with them, stop using DevSyncora and delete your account before the change applies.
General
- These terms and the Privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about DevSyncora, and replace anything said before.
- If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force, and that part applies as far as the law allows.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
- You may not transfer your rights or duties under these terms without our written agreement. We may transfer ours to a company that takes over DevSyncora, and will tell you if we do; your rights under these terms stay the same.
- As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as power or network outages, failures of our providers, natural disasters or government action.
- We may send you notices by email or in DevSyncora. You can send notices to us at hello@syncfac.com or to our address for legal notices (see Who we are).
- These terms are written in English.
